Still have questions? We've got answers. Email us or give us a call.

  • Yes, we accept and welcome all vision plans. We have enhanced how we apply it FOR YOU so you won’t have all of the limitations and new restrictions that patients were being subjected to and frustrated with.

    What restrictions and limitations?

    1. The Vision Plans were requiring that we send your glasses lenses to their generic labs to have made and there were a lot of mistakes being made by their labs. The mistakes frustration for our staff and patients, as we were unable to intervene as this was now controlled by the insurance carriers. This also resulted in quality issues causing delays to have the glasses ready for our patients for weeks to sometimes months.

    2. The plans were requiring that you use their generic lenses instead of ones that perform the best. This included generic progressives, anti-glare coatings, blue blocking lenses, etc. Patients weren’t satisfied with the decrease in quality, function, and appearance of the new lenses, but it was because the insurance carrier’s labs were doing the work, and not allowing us to use Bellmawr Eye Care preferred labs that are in this country and local.

    3. The vision plans were limiting our patients to frames that were not very exciting. Many of our patients couldn’t find frames they liked and would go elsewhere and not even use their insurance benefits. Now we have a whole new optical full of 1,000 frames from around the world and US to choose from. Ones that are irresistible and exciting.

  • Yes, we use your vision plans “open access” option. It frees you from all the vision plan’s limitations while still giving you a lot of the plan’s benefits and reimbursements. And then on top of that we can pass the savings directly to you the patient on the exam, glasses, and contacts on top of what you will be reimbursed.

    1. We still customize solutions for what you need, and you choose what you want from these recommendations.

    2. Then we take care of submitting everything thru your insurance. Within a few weeks you get a nice reimbursement check from your insurance covering part of the exam, glasses, and contacts.

  • Is this the same as “out of network?”

    1. Yes, that’s why we can eliminate all of the complaints and limitations of your insurance network, while still getting you a lot of coverage and reimbursement from your vision plan.

  • Why would I still come to BEC if you’re not in my network?

Our goal is to be far better for what you need and want then anywhere you could go that accepts your insurance in network.

-We give you the time, expertise, care, solutions, and products that make us a 5 star vision care practice. In network vision plans are 2 star, mediocre, and disappointing persistently.

-We use technology that replaces dilations while checking for life and vision threatening conditions. A dropless alternative dilation retinal exams!

    - Enhanced scans to get the most accurate prescription for your glasses and contacts.

    -Full medical eye urgent care

-licensed opticians who are experts at customizing your glasses selection and fitting.

-the most comfortable and advanced contact lenses

-a brand new optical with 1,000 frames to choose from around the world.

-You can count on us to take fantastic care of you and to always get more than you expect.

  • Would I have to pay upfront for the eye exam and glasses?

You would pay discounted fees up front and then we would submit all the out-of-network (open access) forms to get you the maximum open access reimbursement back. The eye exam is normally $109. The discount for our Open Access vision plans is $99. You would also be reimbursed a portion of that.

  • Summary of why we are not in-network with the vision plans anymore:

    • Generic labs (poor performing)
    • Generic lenses (poor performing)
    • Limited frame options
    • Too frequent complaints from disappointed patients because of what their vision plan required.
